Writing
By Nancy Lindquist | September 25, 2007
I’m finding it impossible to write, right now. The babies being home certainly does not help. It’s hard to think sexy when someone is asking for milk, all the time. Am I depressed? Probably. What am I going to do about it? I’m not sure. How’s that for an answer?
The situation cannot be changed. We cannot afford a sitter, at the moment. Don’t worry, I won’t wallow for long. I never do.

A Bad Morning
By Nancy Lindquist | September 18, 2007
Herne is screaming and sobbing. He does not want to go to school today. It’s heart breaking to hear him. He does not understand.
I feel broken. I know I will heal. I always do.

Falls Beginning
By Nancy Lindquist | September 17, 2007
Veil-shrouded, the bride clutches her orange, red and brown bouquet in an ever tightening grip. With each step forward, she brings us colder to the altar of hats and cocoa warmed fingers. Days of soup and snuggled comfort.
She leaves behind a single girl’s dances flower bedecked beauty, to rise a regal queen, her cheeks still tinged with cherry blush, to remind you of the glorious youth she now leaves behind, for deeper joys.

Calls
By Nancy Lindquist | September 14, 2007
I’ve gotten an interesting e-mail from one of my publishers. It’s asking for a short story, 5 thousand, to 15 thousand words about a holiday, other than Christmas, due out about then.
Normally, I don’t think I can write something good in that number of words, well fleshed out. This time, I think I’m going to try.
Almost immediately an experience I had at a ritual a few years ago, came to mind and my mind flitted off into the land of, “what if?”
I like that country. Lately, I’ve not been able to write much. Herne makes it tough to write when he’s home and when he’s not, I’m in pain cause of my dumb back.
Still, I think I’ve got a good idea here and want to run with it.

Thursday Thirteen
By Nancy Lindquist | September 13, 2007
Twelve Things About My Best Friend.
1. He’s cute.
2. He thinks about me, a lot.
3. He makes me laugh. He’s so funny.
4. He’s smart. I never look at him and wonder if he’s got all his lights on.
5. He likes adventure, with restrictions. He never does stupid things, but he tries new things.
6. He likes good food. He’s not a foodie, but he’s willing to try almost anything.
7. He’s willing to make me coffee in the morning, without being asked.
8. He doesn’t take himself too seriously.
9. He changes diapers.
10. He showers daily, and smells great. Listen up people, that’s huge for women.
11. He knows what he’s talking about. If he says he can do it, he’s not talking out his ass.
12. He’s well read. There are people I know who are proud that they never read a book, or don’t read fiction. I just don’t get why that’s something to hold up as an accomplishment.
13. He married me.
