Now What Do I Wear?

By Nancy Lindquist | April 10, 2007

For reasons I do not want to get into, I no longer have a costume for the Fairy ball at RT.  Yes, I need a costume. It’s an opportunity to have something to talk about with people. I just don’t think, as a writer, that I am getting all I can out of RT, if I’m not in costume, at the costume events.

I spent days working on a belly dance skirt. I figured since I dance and I’m putting more time into dancing that a new skirt was in order. I planned it to go with a belt I own. The bra got lost in a move. I had a handle on a new bra, but someone didn’t get it to me in time. Things happen, but now I’m screwed.

Most of that stuff comes from Egypt and Turkey. It’s incredibly expensive. I have a use for it and I take my dance seriously. It was an investment, but now it’s too late to order anything decent. I had a handle on one on E-bay, but someone bid a ridiculously high amount on it and it’s going to be gone this morning. I cannot afford to match stupidity. She wants to pay $200.00 for something that was half that at, “Buy it Now, be my guest.

So, I’m in a bit of a mess. Okay, I’m in a huge poo dropping mess. Help!
