Thursday Thirteen

Thirteen People I Want to Be Like and Why
These are in random order as I think of them.
This is not a complete list.
1. AE Rought. Woman can write, make a basket, make her own soap and in general is freaking amazing. I can’t keep up.

2. Monica Burns. I know Word. I’m a fantastic Word trainer. She makes me look like a moron, when it comes to Microsoft Word. Every author that uses Word, needs to bookmark her site.

3. Julie Benac. I sew. I’m okay. Julie designs. It’s on a whole different level. I can’t wear her stuff much, anymore. I’ve lost too much weight. She’s a plus size designer. Every woman who likes exotic clothing and is over a size 16 should know about Julie.

4. My friend, Amy. She knows everything about me and loves me anyway. Actually, she loves me because of my dark side.

5. My friend Sue. She’s battling cancer. It’s not going well. You’d never know it from talking to her. Not that suffering in silence is a good thing. She reaches out when she needs to and I’m there for her. However, she’s never forgotten that she’s a friend first. I love her. I get to meet her in May. No, we’ve never met. My internet buddies are very near and dear to my heart.

6. Rania. She’s a belly dancer. Gorgeous and graceful with incredible muscle control. Wish I could master that. She’s on the cutting edge of belly dance in a lot of ways.

7. My husband. No, not because he’s reading this list. He’s just someone to admire. He’s my opposite in many ways. I need some of his qualities.

8. Amanda Young. She’s a great writer and she knows where to put a comma. Something I struggle with.

9. Flight Attendants. If  the plane goes down, they can get the survivors out. They’re primary job is not to kiss passengers booty and bring them drinks. Some people forget that. I’ve seen some appalling behavior on airplanes from passengers. Sure, there are a few bad apples, but overall, I admire them.

10. My son Steven. We were told he might never walk, talk or read. He does all of those things and much more. He’s amazing. It’s not anything I’ve done. One of the best things we ever did was adopt Steven. He brings so much love into our lives.

11. My OB/GYN Dr. Vicari. I was in the hospital for eight weeks, trying not to have JJ. I turned into an ogre. She handled me well. Believe me, that’s not easy. Great people have been laid to waste trying to calm me down.

12. My birth mom. She had a tough thing to do. I think about her a lot. I’ve never really met her. They whisked me away without letting her see me. That’s what the adoption people told me. She must live with a lot of stress from that decision.

13. My mom. She changed a small piece of the world for the better. For all the right reasons.

Wonderful list! Both your birth mom and your mom sound like special people. My mom was adopted too and she can’t imagine the strength her birth mom must have had to give her up for adoption so she (my mom) could have a better life.

    Thanks for visiting!

That’s a neat list, Nancy! I don’t think I know enough about 13 people to do that, LOL!

I love that list. The last few were very touching and I agree with you about the OB/GYN thing. I was not nice to mine when I had my second son and she just put up with me and got me through it.

I have always wanted to be a belly dancer, but never had the nerve to take lessons.

Our Mommakitty has never met her birthmommy either (closed adoption) - but she has some good non-identifying info that tells the story of why her b-mommy chose to let her live wif another fambly.
