Who Has Me All…

By Nancy Lindquist | March 30, 2007

Hot and Bothered: Stephen Colbert, host of, The Colbert Report (don’t pronounce the  T at the end of Report). Last night he made a bid to be on the cover of Harlequin’s romance books. Sure the pictures are god awful, of course he has no idea what a Harlequin cover looks like, but it was a funny bit and I don’t mind laughing at my profession.

Ready to Bitch Slap Them:

People who don’t listen when you give them the instrutcions THEY asked for. I’ve got some work out to someone and what was returned to me is so unlike what I asked for, that I’m about to cry.

Excited to Read:

Borders Books. I went to the local store last night and they had a TON of Samhain books, by so many authors, I could not keep track of them all. Beats some large chain stores all to heck and back. Another store recently told a Samhain author that they consider Samhain titles to be print on demand and not returnable. That is NOT true and I’m embarrassed they are so far behind. Crissy, the owner of Samhain Publishing, works very hard to make sure companies know that Samhain is NOT a print on demand, nor vanity press. I am proud to be with them and will be spending my book buying dollars at Borders, not the other company, until they get their heads on straight.

Excited to Write:

A friend of mine is getting great sales on one of her books. It’s quite naughty. I mean it makes my work look tame. I’m hottin up the next book. Trust me when I say, I will NOT be showing this one to the mother in law. I won’t write them all like that, but this story is in my head and I hope it will bring a good return. Since I’m writing it over the weekend, cause it’s banging to get out, I hope to get it sold, soon.

Proud:

My two year old, JJ. With Herne autistic, I watch poor JJ like a hawk. It’s not common to have two children from the same family turn out to be autistic, but it’s not unheard of. My friend, Julie, has two autistic boys. Last night JJ was talking to and about the moon. It was quite verbose and very sweet. I’m not breathing a sigh of relief, but all indicators are that he’s autism free.

Thinking:

My son, Gene-Gene. It’s obvious he’s trying to skate through school without doing any work. I caught him using a calculator on his math homework, yesterday. I don’t know what to do about it. He won’t read. I’m not sure how to get through to the kid.

Starving:

No one. I’ve eaten too much this past week. Ugh.

Happy/Guts Twisted:

My dog, Mani-Nana. Her love of running spurs me to get my butt out there and enjoy it.

Dressing Up:

My husband took me out to dinner last night. Sure, it was, Red Lobster, but it was better than nothing.

Listening:

Carlos Santana. I love his music. Every time I put on a CD of his, it’s like a revelation.

Jonesing:

Size twelve pants. I want to be in them. Gotta run more.
