Accountability Wednesday
By Nancy Lindquist | March 12, 2007
I seem to have been deep in re-writes and edits over the past few weeks. Which means I’m not banging out the words, but am doing polishing and submissions, just as hard, if not harder than actual writing.
Words: No freaking clue. I’m writing. Not as much as before.
New outlines: One. A Chick Lit book targeted at Samhain. No sex in this one. Sorry sex maniacs. If I manage to sell it, I will be doing so under my real name. If there’s a, Lindquist, in the title, it’s got boffing.
Submissions: Two
Rejections: One. From Ellora’s Cave and it hurt. Nothing encouraging, just a, “Your work is not right for us.” I re-subbed it somewhere else.
Exercise: Running, every day, but last Friday. I need to take a day off once a week. The dog, my running partner, is in heaven. I’m back to one - two miles and building. There’s a marathon in the fall.
The Good: Running. I put it off and bitch before I go, but it makes me smile. Like labor, I forget how much I love it. Well, not like labor, I forget how much I hate that.
The Bad: The rejection letter from Ellora’s Cave.
The Ugly: My house. It’s clean enough, but not clean enough for me.
